NEW DELHI: India’s star batter Smriti Mandhana is currently gearing up for the Women’s T20 World Cup that will be held from October 3 in the United Arab Emirates.
Smriti Mandhana has been a cornerstone of the Indian women’s cricket team with her aggressive batting style and consistency.
Smriti is known for her elegant stroke play and ability to anchor innings or accelerate when needed.
In a video shared by Women’s T20 World Cup broadcaster Star Sports on their official X handle in which Smriti Mandhana tagged Virat Kohli as her favourite cricketer.
When asked by the host who’s her favourite batsman, Smriti Mandhana named Virat Kohli as a matter of fact answer.
Smriti said that when she met Kohli, she did ask him a lot of things about batting and she really wanted to know what his mindset is, adding that she had a problem of her grip changing a bit and she asked Kohli about it.
Smriti added that she also asked Kohli as to how he carries all these expectations, because he has so much of expectations and Virat just said that he doesn’t look at it as expectations and he just does what his team wants.
Smriti continues, “We had that in me but it never comes out in our performances, but after hearing it from him I thought I was in a better mindset.”
